WAYTCO ARE HOLDING GENERAL AUDITIONS FOR MAJOR OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT 2018/19

WAYTCo is the peak organization in WA for young theatre and performance training in Western Australia. Our latest sold-out production REST won three FRINGE WORLD awards include the Martin Sims Award. Previous WAYTCo members are now studying full time performance courses at both WAAPA and NIDA.  We are looking for young theatre performers, technicians and makers from all backgrounds who aspire to develop their skills and practice in preparation for work in the theatre industry or to prepare for tertiary training. You do not need to have experience, but you need to be curious, enthusiastic and ready to learning from WA’s leading theatre artists.

We are looking for people between 15-26 years old. WAYTCo activities are usually after school or at the weekends and during school holidays. Auditionees must be WAYTCo members - sign up or renew here.

Our general auditions are two hour workshops held over the 1, 2, and 3 of April. Please book your place online. Please prepare a 2-3 minute monologue or your choice. Bring a head shot or clear photo or photo copy. Wear loose comfy clothing. Bring a water bottle. Please nominate at your audition which of our activities you are auditioning for. (you can nominate more than one). Auditionees for The Cockatoos will have a further call back audition with Andrew Hale on Saturday 6 April 1pm-4pm. Call back applicants who are between 16-18 will need signed consent from parents or guardians to do the call back. People under 16 are ineligible to audition for The Cockatoos.

  • We are offering places in the Ensemble 2019 Training Program (April - December 2019) - Ages 15-26
  • We are casting for our major production of The Cockatoos written and directed by Andrew Hale to be presented at the State Theatre Centre of WA (STCWA 18-29 November 2019)
  • We are casting for our 24-Hour Play Generator Project. (Subiaco Arts Centre, 15 June 2019)
  • We are offering places to WAYTCo members for our Deviser’s Club performance incubator
